5 ways you'll become a better golfer at Royal Westmoreland
If you enjoy teeing off in radiant sunshine, and love the tranquillity of the fairways during the height of summer, you’re not alone.
Now, picture the scene. You’re in the UK. The torrential rain means getting the waterproofs out as you head to the course. We’ve all been there, and it’s not ideal.
But I’ll stop you right there, have you tried golfing in a tropical paradise?
With world-class golf facilities at your disposal at the luxurious Royal Westmoreland, your game is sure to progress, no matter what level you play at.
Here’s five ways that it will:
1. Reduce your handicap
Imagine 7,045 yards of beautifully manicured greens and fairways. Visualise yourself at the par three 7th, contemplating your club choice in no particular hurry, after all, the invigorating sunshine is here to stay.
And when you take into account that you’re three under par after a splendid first six, with your partner currently three over par, things couldn’t be sweeter.
Following the duration of your visit, with any luck you’ll be heading home a seasoned golfer with a tan to match.
2. Drive further and more accurately
There’s no better way to increase your drive or improve your chip shot than spending an hour on the driving range.
Our range looks out on the tranquil oceans of Mullins Bay. Situated in the quiet, green landscapes of our community, you’ll be fully focused on your game, unless the local monkeys distract your attention.
After a couple of hours, you’ll know all about driving in style.
3. Perfect your putting
Amongst our golfing amenities is our putting green where you can work on your short game. At our Short Game Academy you might even find yourself practicing next to seasoned PGA professionals.
Our Director of Golf, Roger Beale, is an ex pro and represented Barbados at the 2006 World Cup. He’s usually on the course and will happily give you pointers on how to take your game up a notch or two.
4. Discover the new clubs for you
Our Pro Golf Shop is like an Aladdin’s cave of golfing equipment. We have everything you could ever want, and all the specialist advice you’ll need to ensure you have the right clubs.
Club and shoe hire are also on offer. You’ll have to book an appointment but after being kitted out, your approach shots will drop closer to the pin than you’ve ever managed before.
5. Find suitable refreshment in the club house
Once you’ve made your way around the course, our colonial style, members-only club house awaits.
You’ll find the restaurant and bar where you can unwind and discuss your round in peace. Perhaps you’ll fancy sipping on a Sundowner and drifting off to enjoy the rest of your day.
If that isn’t an improvement on your usual round, we don’t know what will be.
