Royal Westmoreland co-hosts the Sir Gary Sobers Golf Championship.

Set up as a 72-hole stroke play competition, players enjoyed a memorable event which closed with an award ceremony and well deserved drinks reception to celebrate everybody’s efforts.
Sir Gary Sobers whose full name is Garfield St Aubrun Sobers is a former cricketer who played for the West Indies from 1954 to 1974 and established a new record for the highest individual score in an innings which was not broken until 1994. Originally from Bridgetown, Barbados, he was named The Right Excellent Sir Garfield St. Auburn Sobers as one of the ten National Heroes of Barbados by an act of Parliament in 1998.
