When visiting Barbados, there are so many incredible restaurants to visit. You certainly won’t be short of options, but you may have difficulty deciding where to go first.

Whether you are after local Bajan cuisine, international dishes, or a fine dining experience, we have put together ten of the best restaurants on the island.

The Cliff

The Cliff has got to be Barbados’ most famous restaurant, and is visited by many celebrities. The prices are very expensive, but the service is fantastic, and those of us who may not quite be celebrities yet will still feel just as welcome.

Located on a clifftop above a cove with incredible views of the sea, it is a truly romantic setting. The food itself receives rave reviews, and the presentation is impressive and intricate.

 

The Tides

The Tides in St James is a beautiful waterfront restaurant which also doubles as an art gallery, showcasing work from many talented Caribbean artists. Trees grow through the roof of the building, and the restaurant is open to the sea.

Serving seafood dishes which are beautifully created with an Asian twist, both the food and the service here are exceptional.

 

Waterfront Café

This café is a wonderful place to stop for lunch if you are in Bridgetown, or perhaps a drink in the cool and reasonably priced bar. If you like live music, this may well be the place for you as they have bands on several nights a week.

They offer up a variety of different food, from soups and sandwiches, to Caribbean and Bajan dishes, and there are even vegetarian and gluten free options.

 

Nishi

Currently holding the #1 spot on Tripadvisor for restaurants in Barbados, Nishi serves sushi with an Asian and Caribbean twist, as well as bistro entrées.

Guests can expect a warm welcome, and excellent service at this top Bajan eatery.

 

Daphne’s

This restaurant on the West Coast and is well renowned in the area. They serve great food in a stylish setting, and have a dress code for dinner.

The food is most Italian, and they serve island seafood as well as wonderful desserts.

 

The Fish Pot

This fabulous restaurant is set in an 18th century fort, and is right at the waterside. Fresh air and Caribbean views complement the gourmet dining experience perfectly.

Prices are very reasonable for such incredible food, and the chef uses fresh ingredients and local seasonings to create Caribbean as well as internationally inspired dishes.

 

Bliss Cafe

Bliss Cafe in Dover is a lovely family run café, which receives rave reviews. A great spot for breakfast, or a coffee, this café is known for its waffles.

It also serves fresh paninis and all day English breakfasts, among other things, and offers gluten free options.

 

Champers

Champers is another restaurant with a breathtaking oceanfront setting. One of the best restaurants on the south coast of the island, they serve generous portions of fresh seafood, Caribbean and European dishes.

Brown Sugar

If you want to try great Bajan food you should head to Brown Sugar. The restaurant has gorgeous fern-filled patios and water gardens provide the perfect backdrop for a lunch time or evening meal that is both relaxed and memorable.

You can look forward to trying an all you can eat buffet at lunch time, or local specialty dishes such as coo-coo or pepperpot.

 

Cin Cin By The Sea

Cin Cin is one of the most chic restaurants Barbados has to offer, with sweeping sea views and a trendy bar offering drinks and nibbles.

In the restaurant you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, but with a Caribbean twist. Combinations of food are inventive, and you’re sure to enjoy your meal here.
