Through the keyhole - Tranquility on Mahogany Drive

Steve Green and his wife Natalie, along with their three daughters, have been home-owners at Royal Westmoreland for seven years.

Having originally purchased a four bedroom Royal Villa, the family are now proud owners of their own stunning custom built property, aptly named Tranquillity on Mahogany Drive.

Steve, owner of a film equipment company, and his family had long been visitors to the island before making an initial purchase. Fans of golf, the food and climate, Steve remembers: “We bought at Royal Westmoreland largely because of the excellent golf course and the incredible community environment. We have no worries about the house because of the gated nature of the estate; when we are away, we just lock up and leave it.”

Once the family made the decision to expand, a custom built design was their preferred choice. With designs created by their own architect, Royal Westmoreland’s Construction Director, Ian Putley, managed the project for them.
Steve says: “Ian and his team were wonderful and managed the whole process very efficiently and effectively. The house has a huge wrap around veranda on the first floor and enormous windows that flood the house with light front and back.”

Jenny Blanc Interior Design was commissioned to furnish the home and the Greens gave a thorough brief. Integral to the design needed to be a sense of symmetry and comfort, and the family’s love of contemporary style needed to shine throughout the property. The poolside and patio areas needed to provide an outdoor living environment, whilst the family were also keen to incorporate traditional bright, Caribbean colours into the design. The result was outstanding, with Steve recalling: “Jenny Blanc Interiors captured every aspect of us in the house. It’s simply breath-taking when you walk through the front door.”
