Is it a good time to buy property in Barbados?

Platinum Life caught up with Kieron Kelly, Director of leading Barbados Estate Agents, Chestertons to ask how the Barbados real estate market is faring in these challenging economic times and how he rates Royal Westmoreland…

“The Barbados tourism market is thriving at the moment, retaining its position as the number one luxury tourism destination in the Caribbean. Naturally this has led to a positive impact on the property market, which explains why there have not been the large price reductions in property on Barbados as experienced elsewhere in the world.  Key locations such as the West coast and beach front areas have declined only slightly in the last few years. We are seeing a lot more Canadians buying on the island but the primary market remains the UK with 85% of sales, in recognition of the appeal of the destination.

Royal Westmoreland is the best luxury golf estate on the island and unlike some others is well established with all the facilities already in place. It offers great rental potential as visitors have access to a well maintained golf course, tennis, gymnasium and beach club. The location is perfect, as you are on the West coast close to the best restaurants, beaches and shops. Lime Grove, the new lifestyle and shopping centre, five minutes drive from Royal Westmoreland has been a great addition to the island and is becoming a real hub of activity both in the day and evening. ” For more information click here to contact us
