Backing on to the beach, sip your favourite cocktails whilst watching the sun go down. Once it does, enjoy the highly entertaining Beach Extravaganza Dinner Show, held every Monday and Wednesday, while feasting on their scrumptious BBQ dinner.

3. Café Sol

If you like your food spicy and hot and your margaritas cold and refreshing, then this Mexican grill and margarita bar should certainly be on your holiday to-do list. Café Sol, located in St Lawrence Gap, is famed for its Tex-Mex menu and its wide selection of margaritas. Inside, you’ll find its cosy atmosphere, refined décor and friendly customer service makes it a great place for a fun but relaxed night out that’s not too hectic or overcrowded.

4. Boatyard Bar

If you like to dance and enjoy partying into the early hours, the Boatyard, at Carlisle Bay, is the place to go. Very popular with the younger crowd, this busy nightclub attracts Barbadians and visitors alike. It’s a lively venue that hosts lots of great musical entertainment, including live music and DJs. Of course, there is a wide range of drinks to choose from and if you feel peckish, there are plenty of tasty delights cooking on the grill.

5. Red Bar Lounge

Another great party venue is the Red Door Lounge, in Holetown. This open plan lounge bar makes a great place to mingle with the crowd and enjoy the fantastic music on offer from the local and international DJ’s and live bands which perform there daily.

The lounge is renowned for its unique selection of crafted cocktails and its signature drink is the aptly named, Red Door Mule, made from Barbadian white rum, fresh lime, wild berries and a fiery kick of ginger. Not to be missed.

6. Scoopie’s Jazz Club

If music is your thing, no visit to Barbados could be complete without a night spent at Scoopie’s Jazz Club, in St Lawrence Gap. This highly welcoming venue with its warm atmosphere and even warmer service provides the perfect setting to enjoy the heady mix of live jazz, R’n’B, soul and reggae.

With an eclectic clientele, reasonably priced bar meals and a great selection of drinks, Scoopie’s is the place to be if you like your Barbados chilled and with a twist of New Orleans.

7. John Moore’s Bar

For those seeking something quite different, you have to visit John Moore‘s Bar, in St James. Situated on the stunning west coast, this is a completely unpretentious, truly authentic, beachfront, Bajan rum shack. Its draw is that its mix of Barbadian and international guests makes it ideal for great conversation.

Frequently getting five-star reviews, it’s a place full of happy characters with locally caught fish on the menu and plenty of well-priced beer and rum to sip while you chat away.

8. Lime Bar

Situated in the luxurious Limegrove centre in Holetown, the Lime Bar is an upmarket venue, ideal for those who like great, personal service in comfortable and tastefully decorated surroundings. Featuring a wide mix of live entertainment, including DJs, musicians and performing artists, the bar provides a good selection of cuisine and drinks at very reasonable prices. Popular with locals and visitors, especially at the weekends, it’s a great place to mingle and meet new friends.
